Prerequisites: None
Intended Audience: Department Information Security Officers (ISO) and back-ups, Risk Officers, state security professionals, and State employees with primary or secondary responsibilities for information security or who wish to learn more about information security risk governance and assessment.
Course Description: This is an interactive workshop to inform and explore risk governance, management and assessment. We will explore the development of risk strategies within department structures and building risk governance. Understanding of principles of risk management frameworks and assessment techniques. Identification of threats, vulnerabilities, impacts, asset planning, selecting control measures, monitoring. The focus of the workshop will be the NIST Risk Management Framework and include the use of tools and techniques to incorporate into departmental practices for risk management. The workshop is for new and experienced information security officers, risk officers and managers with responsibilities to protect departments information assets.
