FAQs
1. Where can additional information regarding M365 be found?
Please refer to the Microsoft 365 Documentation.
2. Does the Statewide ELA include other products such as on-premise licensing or Azure?
The focus of the Statewide ELA is to provide an affordable path to M365 G5. It does not include on-premise products or Azure. However, CDT does have a separate contract for Off-Premises Cloud for Azure. Please refer to the CDT website at https://www.cdt.ca.gov/services/off-premises-cloud/ for further details.
3. Will we still have our own Microsoft Account Console (MAC) portal and place our own reservations or will everything go through purchase orders (POs)?
Yes, you will still have access to your own MAC portal and have the ability to place your own reservations which will be reconciled annually before the anniversary date.
4. If we are on this contract and add new product licenses, do we order through CDT or MAC? Does this eliminate true-ups?
You can add additional licenses through the MAC and submit a single request for CDT to reconcile/true-up 60 days prior to the anniversary date. New product licenses (licenses not currently on your PO) must have a request submitted to CDT. Existing license(s) changes, customers must submit through the MAC portal.
5. How is Calling Plans licenses different on CALNET vs On the EA?
Calling Plans are not available on the EA to State customers that are required to use CALNET. To use Microsoft Teams as a telephony solution the dial tone is provided through CALNET Contracts.
6. If we have current server licenses on our EA then do they rollover or stay with current contract?
Server Licenses will stay with your current on-premises contract.
