TA 23-08: On-Premises Storage as a Service (STaaS) Transition

Overview
As a follow-up to TA 23-01: On-Premises Storage as a Service (STaaS) Updates, the California Department of Technology (CDT) will assume management and ownership of the STaaS On-Premises service as of September 7, 2023. This transition will be seamless and transparent to customers and will not impact their services.
What’s Next:
CDT will host and manage the service at its Data Centers. As part of this service, customers will receive a direct customer experience and will continue to have access to all existing features of STaaS On-Premises.

- Cost will remain unchanged at the existing published rates
- Pay per use
- Data encrypted at rest, within CDT Data Centers
- Multiple storage tiers
- Built-in High Availability (HA) at CDT Data Centers
Action Requested
There is no action required for existing customers. Effective September 7, 2023, customers should contact CDT directly for any STaaS On-Premises questions and/or support.
