TA 25-04: Private Cloud Marketplace
Issue Date: June 30, 2025
Attention: All CDT Customers
Action Requested: Submit a Cloud Marketplace Purchases Case, as needed
Effective Date: June 30, 2025
Overview
The California Department of Technology (CDT) is pleased to introduce the Private Cloud Marketplace, a new capability within our Cloud Services platform designed in partnership with State departments to simplify access to trusted cloud solutions.
Why This Matters:
This Private Cloud Marketplace streamlines the process for acquiring preapproved IaaS, PaaS, and soon, Saas and GenAI offerings. It is an intuitive online storefront – allowing departments to quickly browse, click, and use services. All products in the Private Cloud Marketplace are pre-selected for compliance, eliminating the need for lengthy contract reviews or extra approvals.
What’s New and Collaborative:
- CDT has pre-populated the Marketplace with widely used Iaas and Paas services based on agency demand and contract alignment.
- We are actively engaging departments and vendor partners to expand offerings, especially around SaaS and AI-enabled tools.
- If a desired service isn’t currently listed, departments can easily submit a Cloud Marketplace Purchases request via the CDT IT Services Portal (ServiceNow). The request will be reviewed quickly for purchase if appropriate. We encourage this feedback – your input directly shapes the available products in the Marketplace.
- Our team is committed to reviewing all requests promptly and working collaboratively with departments to meet their unique cloud needs.
We invited you to explore the Marketplace and partner with us as we expand access to secure, scalable cloud solutions across the State.
Please note that customers may receive related communications from their Cloud Service Provider(s) once all Marketplace features are enabled. These messages can be disregarded, as they will not impact any existing workloads.
