Scope: A public-facing web interface for companies with stationary refrigeration systems to register their facilities, upload servicing maintenance records, pay applicable fees, and download applicable emissions data.
Key Results:

  • The uptime is 99.9% (Salesforce, Okta, SnapPay, RMP Application).
  • The system allows users to register their company, add new facilities or refrigeration systems and fill out leak inspection records and annual reports in less than 10 minutes.

MIO Mobile Inspection Optimization Initiative

Scope: A software solution with a mobile interface to improve the efficiency of the inspectors conducting an on-site inspection and sending the deliverables associated with inspection outcomes to businesses. 55,000 total licensee businesses were inspected, and the total annual inspection is 500. Project has modified its technical platform.

  • Greater licensee engagement and awareness: 20% fewer appeals expected due to clearer and more concise communication, quicker to compliance

Scope: CIRAS offers anglers a web-based user-friendly experience, data transparency, and immediate access to data summaries through an interactive dashboard. CIRAS represents a paradigm shift for how we gather, process, store, and share information regarding California’s diverse fisheries, getting information to anglers to help inform their fishing trips faster than ever before. For 40,000 anglers each year, reduce a paper-based process from days to minutes using the new online survey.
Key Results:

  • Time needed to process one angler survey on the portal is less than 1 minute compared to hours of staff time with the previous physical survey.

CDFA Registered Service Agency (RSA) Portal

Scope: Improved customer and stakeholder service through strengthening CDFA’s internet and website presence by updating information systems capabilities and databases. Reduced operating costs by provided accurate and reliable on-line data resources to customers and county officials. Improve timely payment of registration and licensing fees, allowing a Service Agency on-line access to make payments. Consolidate Registered Service Agency and Registered Service Agent Exam information into the same data repository to ensure that resultant data is accurate and properly referenced.

  • The new system allows Commercial Agents, State Agencies, and Counties to have 100% access to view and update their data on the RSA Portal.

Produce Safety Program (PSP) Farm Inventory Project

Scope: A single, secure repository, accessible to California farmers and PSP stakeholders, of farm data and inspection reports.
Key Results:

  • The new system has automated the inspection process and generates PDAT scores, creates inspection records, and assigns inspectors. This process takes approximately 15 minutes to score and select 580+ farms for a fiscal year.

Cost Estimation as a Service Proof of Concept

Scope: The project assessed the feasibility of standing up a CDT service to conduct IT project cost estimation and when requested by State entities. The project focused on utilizing the ExcelerPlan cost estimation tool, a tool that had used in multiple IT projects across the State.

  • Uniform and accurate cost estimation for IT projects will benefit the state regarding direct cost savings and improved project outcomes.

Scope: Provide credible data used to support new regulations or public health investigations. The average number of days per case is 220 days. The new system is expected to reduce this by 50% to 110 days.

Scope: Update the HR system (POC) with improved processes that are more responsive to stakeholders and customers (particularly hiring managers) and promote visibility and transparency of recruitment workload. Proof of Concept – Automated Drug Dispensing System Replacement

Scope: Proof of concept to replace existing drug dispensing systems at West LA Veterans Home for daily routine and urgent medications
Key Results:

California Environmental Reporting System (CERS NextGen) MVP

Geospatial Data System for Certified Unified Program Agencies (CUPAs)

Scope: Graphically display the location and the related jurisdictional boundaries on a map for a given address and allows any interested entity to determine which jurisdiction is responsible for a specific location within seconds.

  • The project resulted in a GIS boundary for UPAs which will allow for integration with the CERS NextGen project.

Key Results:

  • This project allows for 99.999% uptime and is designed to grow with future demands, ensuring long-term adaptability.
  • Decreased average time to consolidate incident data and maps from greater than 25 minutes to 7 minutes.
  • Time to generate incident log and overlay maps from 45 minutes to 10 minutes.
  • Initial response time reduced from greater than 45 minutes to 20 minutes.
  • The time to produce an executive report reduce from greater than 60 minutes to 30 minutes.
