Description

When you subscribe to a Blackboard or Cornerstone Learning Management System (LMS), you can deliver, track, report, and administrate your department’s training. This vendor hosted commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) solution is configurable, and customizable (direct order to vendor) to meet the needs of your department. When you purchase your LMS subscription through CDT, you can exchange training records with other departments who purchased through CDT and send and receive messages with CalHR via their Unique Employee ID (UEID). CDT simplifies procurement and renewal management. When you purchase your LMS through CDT, we:

  • Negotiate volume discounts based on statewide usage.
  • Manage the procurement process, generate the purchase order, and renew the contract.
  • Manage the contract for you.
  • Receive, review, approve and pay the invoice and then add the billing to your regular monthly CDT invoice.
  • Track your software subscriptions and renewals and inform you of contract changes.

The LMS solutions purchased through CDT, comply with:

  • SAM 5305.

Rates

The rate schedule represents standard CDT services. CDT will price non-standard technology solutions at the customer’s request.

Follow these steps to acquire LMS subscriptions.

STEP 1
Complete the CDT VHSS for LMS Implementation Planning Checklist (PDF) to document your general requirements, resource availability, and determine implementation readiness.

STEP 2
Discuss your requirements with your chosen LMS vendor and request a quote.

STEP 3
Review the vendor-provided Business Proposal, which may include a price quote for new or renewing services.
STEP 4
Prepare “VHSS Services” Case to CDT to subscribe, renew, change, or discontinue subscription services. Include the following information:
  • Contract start and end date.
  • List of general requirements.
  • The vendor’s Business Proposal or quote.

CDT will review, process, and approve your Case, and then authorize the vendor to issue subscriptions or provide the service. The vendor will arrange an application overview with you and make any necessary configuration changes. Finally, CDT will invoice you when the vendor relays you accepted the subscriptions.
